What is an Invitation Code?
An invitation code is a unique code shared by a family member or friend who is already using Nigama Connect. Entering this code automatically links you to their family tree or friend circle, saving you the effort of building connections from scratch.
If you have an invitation code:
- Enter the code in the field provided
- The app will display details about who sent the code and what family or group you will be joining
- Review the information carefully
- Tap "Confirm" to accept and join that family tree or connection
- Tap "Cancel" if the details are incorrect and you do not wish to proceed
If you do not have an invitation code:
- Simply tap "Skip and Continue" to proceed without a code
- You can always be added to family trees and friend groups later

Accessing the Family Tree
- Tap "Family Tree" on the Dashboard, or
- Tap the Family Tree icon in the bottom navigation bar
Views Available

- Pinch to zoom in and out
- Drag to navigate around the tree
- Tap any member card to see their details
Activities Tab: Shows recent activities related to your family tree (additions, edits, invitations).
User Guide Tab: In-app help documentation for the Family Tree feature.
Adding Family Members
When you first open the Family Tree, you will see yourself as the only member (in list view). Tap on your own card to see the available options.
Adding Parents
- Tap your own card in the list or tree view
- Select "Add Parents"
- Enter your father's and mother's names
- Enter their Date of Birth (an approximate date is acceptable if you don't know the exact date — a date is required to maintain tree integrity)
- Optionally upload supporting documents (photos, certificates)
If your parents are already on Nigama Connect:
- Enter their name or email in the search field
- The system will show matching profiles
- Tap "Send Invite" to send them an invitation to link to your tree
- When they accept, your tree becomes their child tree and their family merges with yours
If your parents are not on Nigama Connect yet:
- Add them as temporary members — they will appear in your tree but cannot log in
- Later, when they join the app, tap their card → "View Details" → "Share Invite Code"
- Share the code with them before they sign up
- When they sign up using that code, they are automatically linked to your tree as a full member
Adding a Spouse
- Tap your own card in the tree
- Select "Add Spouse"
- Enter your spouse's name and date of birth
If your spouse is already on Nigama Connect:
- Search for them by name or email
- Send them an invite
- When they accept, they join your family tree
- If your spouse already has their own family tree built, that tree automatically becomes a Relatives Tree (their family becomes your relatives)
If your spouse is not on Nigama Connect yet:
- Add them as a temporary member
- Share the invite code with them to join later
Adding Children
- Tap on yourself (or your spouse) in the tree
- Select "Add Child"
- Follow the same process as adding parents — either invite an existing app user or add as a temporary member
Adding Siblings
To add a sibling, you must add them as a child of your parents (not directly as your sibling):
- Tap on your parent's card in the tree
- Select "Add Child"
- Enter your sibling's information
- They will automatically appear as your sibling in the tree
Understanding Temporary Members
A temporary member is a person you have added to your tree who has not yet downloaded or registered on Nigama Connect. They appear in your tree structure, but they cannot log in or have an active account. When they eventually join the app using your invite code, their temporary profile is converted to a full active account.
How to Send an Invite Code
- Tap the temporary member's card
- Tap "View Details"
- Tap "Share Invite Code" — a unique code is generated
- Share this code with the person (via WhatsApp, SMS, email, etc.)
- Instruct them to download the app and enter this code during the invitation code step at sign-up
- Once they sign up with the code, they are automatically linked to your tree
Searching in the Family Tree
Use the search bar at the top of the Family Tree screen to search for any member of your tree by name.
Viewing a Member's Details and Profile
- Tap any member card in list or tree view
- Select "View Details"
- You can see their profile information, contact details, and their position in the tree
- From here you can also access the option to share their invite code (if they're a temporary member)
Viewing a Spouse's Family (Relatives Tree)
When a member of your family married someone from another family tree, you can view their spouse's family tree:
- Tap that family member's card
- Select "View Relative Tree"
- You will see the family members of your relative's spouse, who are now connected to your family as relatives
Deleting a Family Member
You can delete a family member from your tree, but with important restrictions:
- You can only delete edge members — people at the outermost ends of the tree (those who have no children or further connections depending on them)
- You cannot delete a middle member of the tree (someone who has children or other members connected through them), as this would break the tree structure
- To delete a middle member, you must first delete all their child/dependent members, and then you can delete that member
To delete a member:
- Tap their card
- Select "Delete"
- Confirm the deletion
Exporting / Sharing Your Family Tree
You can share your family tree as a PDF:
- Tap the menu icon in the Family Tree screen
- Select "Export as PDF" or "Share"
- Choose to share the List View or Tree View
- The PDF is generated and you can share it via WhatsApp, email, or save it to your device
6. Relatives Tree
The Relatives Tree is a separate section for managing your extended family — people related to you but not part of your immediate family tree (such as aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws' families, etc.).
Accessing the Relatives Tree
- Tap "Relatives Tree" on the Dashboard, or
- Navigate from the Family Tree section
Three Types of Relatives Trees
Type 1: Custom Relatives Tree
Used when you want to create a tree for relatives who aren't connected through direct marriage in your family tree.
*Example: Your maternal uncle's family, your father's cousin's family, etc.*
- Go to the Relatives Tree tab
- Tap the "+" button
- Enter a name for this tree (e.g., "Maternal Uncle's Family", "Paternal Aunt's Family")
- Add a "self person" (the starting person of this relatives tree) as a temporary member
- Build the tree from there by adding their family members using the same process as the main Family Tree
All members added this way are temporary members until they join the app.
Type 2: Direct Relatives Tree (Auto-Created)
This type is automatically created when you add a spouse to your family tree and that spouse already has their own family tree in the app.
- You do not need to do anything manually — the system links the trees
- Your spouse's family tree appears in your Relatives Tree section automatically
- You can view all of their family members and how they are related to your family
Type 3: Imported Relatives Tree
Used when you want to connect your tree with another family's tree where there is no direct marriage link — such as distant cousins or families who consider themselves relatives.
Export Process (Person A — the one sharing their tree):
- Go to the Relatives Tree tab
- Tap "Export"
- Select the starting person to export from
- Choose whether to export limited generations or the entire family tree
- A unique code is generated
- Share this code with Person B
Import Process (Person B — the one receiving the tree):
- Go to the Relatives Tree tab
- Tap "Add" and enter a tree name
- Tap "Import Family Tree"
- Enter the code received from Person A
- The imported tree appears in your Relatives Tree section
Deleting a Relatives Tree
- Long press on the tree name in the Relatives Tree list
- Confirm deletion
Note: Deleting a relatives tree only removes it from your view — it does not affect the original family tree or its members.

Recently Viewed Profiles
In the People tab, when you haven't typed a search query, you will see:
- Recently Viewed — The last 3 profiles you opened (shown at the top)

Tapping a Search Result
- Tapping a person opens their full profile. If they are in your connections, you can message them directly from their profile. They are also added to your "Recently Viewed" list.

16. AI Support Assistant
Nigama Connect includes a built-in AI Support Assistant to help you with any questions or issues while using the app.
Support Chat System
In the Profile screen, we have given an option for Help and Support.
In that section, our own AI agent will help you to sort any issue with our application. It will reply immediately.
If it was unable to solve the problem or you need help from a support person, you can message: "I need to chat with a support person." Then the AI will let us know, and in the same chat only, if a support person is available, he/she will reply instead of the AI in the same chat. They will assist you in solving the issue.
17. Invitations Tab
The Invitations Tab on the home screen shows all pending invitations and requests in one place.
What You'll See in the Invitations Tab
- Requests you have sent — Family tree link requests or friend requests waiting for the other person to accept
- Requests sent to you — People who want to add you to their family tree or friend circle

19. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use the app without an invitation code?
Yes. The invitation code is optional. You can skip it during registration and build your connections from scratch.
Q: What happens if I close the app before saving my profile?
Your information won't be saved. You'll need to fill the form again. Always tap "Save and Continue" before closing.
Q: Can I add someone to my family tree if they don't have the app?
Yes. Add them as a temporary member. You can share an invite code with them later. Once they sign up using your code, they become a full member.
Q: Can I change my email or phone number?
No. The email or phone number used for sign-up is locked as your unique identifier for account security purposes.
Q: How do I add a sibling?
You cannot add a sibling directly. Instead, tap your parent's card in the tree, select "Add Child," and enter your sibling's details. They will automatically appear as your sibling.
Q: Why can I only delete edge members of my family tree?
Deleting a middle member (someone who has children or relatives connected through them) would break the tree structure and cause data integrity issues. First delete the child members, then delete the parent.
Q: Can I have multiple matrimony profiles?
Yes, you can create multiple profiles — for example, one for yourself and one for a family member you're helping find a match.
Q: What happens when my classified post expires?
Posts expire after 30 days and are no longer visible. You can create a new post with the same details to continue the listing.
Q: Can I see who viewed my profile?
This feature is not currently available. Only your connections can view your profile.
Q: How do I increase my profile completion percentage?
Go to Profile → Edit and fill in more fields. Adding occupation, education, blood group, biography, photos, and location information all contribute to a higher completion percentage.
Q: Can people outside my network find me?
No. Nigama Connect search only shows people within your connections network. Strangers cannot search for or find you.
Q: What is the difference between Family Tree and Relatives Tree?
The Family Tree contains your immediate family (parents, siblings, spouse, children). The Relatives Tree contains extended family — people connected through marriages, distant family branches, or custom trees you create.
Q: Can I export my family tree?
Yes. Go to the Family Tree screen, tap the menu, and select "Export as PDF." You can save or share both the list view and tree view.
Q: What is a "Relatives Tree from import"?
It is a relatives tree created by importing another family's tree using a code they shared with you. This connects your tree with theirs without requiring a direct marriage link.
Q: How do I contact someone I found in search?
Tap their profile in the search results. If they are in your connections, you will see options to message them, call them, or email them directly from their profile.
